HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We’re still harvesting our veg at Watering Lane Nursery – pictured above is our latest delivery, off to the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

NEW FRUIT CAGE CROWDFUNDER APPEAL

At the moment we have some lovely redcurrant bushes in our field, unfortunately the bird population of Watering Lane finds these lovely too! As a result, we rarely get to sample them. Now, although we love our wildlife here, we do think it’s time to share our soft fruit with our lovely customers instead of the birds.

We plan to purchase a large structure – 14 metres long by 4 metres wide, and 2 metres high. It would have a door so be easy for our guys to access, and tall enough to work inside in comfort. We also plan to plant summer and autumn raspberries in there. The cost of this, including VAT and other costs such as weed control, would be £1,500.

Watch this space for a Crowdfunder launch date and we will have some wonderful rewards for your pledges too.

NEW CUSTOMER- THE BAD BOY CHILLI COMPANY

We are proud to announce a new customer, The Bad Boy Chilli Company. We will be growing some Scotch Bonnet and Habanero chillies for their Kernow Gold Chilli Mash. You can find out more about them at badboychilli.co.uk.

TOMATOES

We have extended our vertical growing system, and will grow tomatoes again, especially for The Cornish Ketchup Co., but also will be trialling aubergines and peppers with this method.

Funding for this was received through The Big Lottery Awards for All.

DELIVERY VAN

We are looking for a delivery van. As well as making deliveries of our veg bags and produce easier, it would also be good advertising for us as we plan to incorporate signage so people know who we are while we are out and about.

If anybody out there knows of anything that might suit, please get in contact. We are looking for a small white van, similar to Berling/Combo etc..

Thank you.
