Last year turned into a very busy time for us at People and Gardens.  We spent the summer harvesting our produce for our veg bag scheme and tomatoes for the Eden Kitchens.  We tried growing some different vegetables which have proved very successful and very tasty.  Everyone has worked really well together as well as being involved in different tasks around the site.  So all in all a very positive end to a funny couple of years.

We enter 2022 with a very positive outlook and some exciting projects up our sleeves that we are working on – more information in future posts.

Sadly one of your lovely gentlemen passed away in October, he had been with the project from the start and was a real gentle gentleman, he is greatly missed.

MEET THE TEAM

Karen – comes from an adult social care background working with adults in the community promoting independence and enabling individuals to reach their full potential, as well as managerial experience. She has a very positive nature and has a can do outlook on life.  She believes that everyone should be given the opportunity to have a go if they want to and to be provided with the appropriate support to achieve.

Suzanne – has worked in the care sector for over 20 years, mainly supporting adults with learning difficulties.  She is a very proactive individual and likes to encourage  others to try new things and have new experiences.  She loves gardening and feels it can create a calming and positive environment.

Emma – has worked outside on farms and in gardens for over 20 years.  She first came to People and Gardens to volunteer and fell in love with the project straight away.  We have fun everyday and no day is the same.

We are still providing a fortnightly veg bag to the local area, if you would like to know whether we deliver to your area please email me at [email protected]
