Like the rest of the world we are currently on Lockdown, missing each other, watching the plants grow and sharing laughs – but under the circumstances it can’t be helped. We all have to remain positive and look forward to the day we can return to the nursery – it could be a big celebratory day!

Since our nursery closed, we’ve been working behind the scenes to be able to continue growing produce for our veg bags. Many of our customers are elderly and vulnerable. We’ve felt an obligation to continue and parent volunteers have been managing everything. Some regular customers have donated their payments, without requiring deliveries, to make it financially possible.

We’re now very privileged for our volunteers to be able to use the productive Gardens at Heligan, with skilled horticulturists from Heligan also volunteering to grow for us.

Produce will also be provided to people in need locally, once harvesting begins.

We are very respectful of Heligan’s worldwide reputation, and it speaks volumes of their integrity as an organisation, that they have stepped aside during the crisis, and trust us to care for such a beautiful place.

Hopefully this is a model that can be emulated to support communities in many places.
